WHAT IS "FLAT FEET"???
A new concept in sock knitting? Yes! There are no skeins, no balls, no tangles--and it's portable.
You simply unravel as you knit. DO NOT WIND THE FLAT INTO A BALL, knit as it is presented into the sock of your choice. It's creative, it's fun and it's easy.
Because each flat is hand-painted, no other pair will match the flats; these are "art socks", one-of-a-kind. The unique color pattern develops as the flat is knit. It is literally a color transformation at the needle tip. Depending the pattern selected, the colors may yield diagonal colors, slight striping, or even bold color.
Uniquely, the colors in the blank will not disclose the final result of the sock; it only indicates the colors that will be found within the sock. Your needles drip color as you, the artist, create socks that are solely(no pun intended) your own.
80% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon. Size 2-3 US needles recommended.
Gauge: as desired for project. Size 2 or 3 recommended for socks.
Hints:
If you wish to knit two socks or mittens simultaneously, separate at the enter waste yarn and start the second sock on the second half. Unravel in the same direction.
To obtain matching mittens or socks, separate at the center waste yarn and start the second mitten or sock there.
Knit as you normally would, knowing that the crimp will release during the blocking process and your stitches will then become even. Just like magic!!
FINISHED PIECES MUST BE BLOCKED.
Our method:
Secure any yarn ends by weaving them in.
Gently hand-wash in warm,soapy water.
A bit of color loss art this time is not unusual. Ad 1/4 cup white vinegar to wash water to stop loss.
Rinse in clear ware, squeeze (do not wring) and lay flat to dry.
Subsequent launderings may be done by machine (no bleach).
